Artist

Tomas Stanaitis's work is constantly changing, but recently, as he spends a lot of time in nature, observing its rhythms, nature's motifs have moved to his canvases. The easily recognisable Lithuanian landscapes are dominated by a natural, earthy palette, occasionally spiced up with very bright green or blue areas. The motifs chosen by the artist are seemingly unremarkable, they are not famous, well-known places, but they characteristically reflect the gently undulating, calm, subdued nature of our landscapes. The artist breaks it down into patches of colour, light and shadow, and assembles it in light, fluid brushstrokes into an intuitively recognisable archetype, rooted in ourselves.

Tomas Stanaitis born in 1985 m. on 27th of May in Kaunas, Lithuania.
