Artist

Marius Morkūnas, creator of the middle generation, was born in 1976 in Klaipėda. Creativity accompanied him from early childhood, a strong attraction to art appeared already from the age of five.

When he started attending school, his priority was art classes and clubs, and when there were too few of them, he entered the "BRAKO" art school. 1992-1995 Marius studied and graduated from the "Eduardo Balsys High School of Arts", in Klaipėda. 1995 - 1999 studied and graduated from Vilnius Academy of Arts, Klaipėda Department of Visual Design of Kaunas Institute of Art, major study program of visual design in the field of art studies and received a bachelor's degree in design arts. He continued his studies at the Vilnius Academy of Arts and in 2001 obtained a master's degree in visual design in the field of arts.

The artist has been working in the fields of design, painting and photography for 23 years. Although he has been involved in the creative process for a long time, the first painting exhibitions "HEAR SILENCE" and "STOPPED TIME" were held in 2022.

Works are usually born through photography, so the artist can better feel the colors of nature, its pulse, how the sun rises and how the shadows fall. All this is conveyed in painting. Motifs characteristic of oriental culture are also reflected in the paintings, bright and sometimes pastel colors, a very common sense of cleanliness in art. The works exude minimalism, single strokes, stylized lines intertwine into a whole. In his work, the artist likes to paint the ships of the seaside, where he himself comes from, to convey the fragility of the sea urchin and the breath of the wind. The majority of the artist's works have water motifs, space, undulations.

The influence of design is felt in the paintings, solidity and moderation of details are appreciated here. The artist set himself the goal that each work must have peace in it, so that looking at it one can relax spiritually.
