More about this artwork

The painting shows a vibrant and whimsical composition, featuring a bouquet of stylized tulips that burst upwards in shades of orange and yellow, each petal outlined in bold contours. The flowers emanate from thick, swirling green stems interspersed with subtle, leafy textures and motifs that hint at foliage. Nestled among the tulip stems are three birds, each rendered in a charming, illustrative style. One bird, in shades of orange, appears to vocalize energetically, while the others, one pink and the other yellow, listen or interact softly. The background is a soft, dreamy wash of green and yellow, creating an aura of gentle light around the subjects. Overall, the image exudes a sense of joy and organic growth.

Artist

Asta Keraitienė is an artist whose creative path is deeply influenced by her acute sensitivity to both colour and form. Her distinct worldview is evident in the varied expressions that permeate her artwork. Each significant period of her life finds its place in her changing styles and techniques, enabling her creations to function as a visual chronicle of her feelings and lived experiences.

The breadth of Keraitienė’s artistry is apparent in her treatment of subject matter and choice of materials. At times, her pieces are adorned with decorative patterns and symbolic imagery; at others, she seeks balance through mandalas or conveys delicate emotions with gentle, translucent brushstrokes. This flexibility underscores her openness to experimentation and her readiness to pursue inspiration in any direction.

When traditional canvas no longer suffices, Keraitienė broadens her artistic scope by working on unconventional surfaces like wooden furniture, walls, or window shutters. By doing so, she transcends conventional boundaries, bringing her dynamic imagination into everyday settings and enhancing ordinary items with both visual charm and emotional resonance.

Born in 1971, Asta Keraitienė resides and creates in Rokiškis, Lithuania. The close relationship between her surroundings and personal history is reflected throughout her body of work, resulting in a compelling fusion of introspection, decorative elements, and symbolism.
