"K. Česonytė’s paintings are variations on Expressionist painting: characterized by a trembling touch, energetic brushstrokes, and expressive paint textures with which she often seems to 'sculpt' figures, objects, and landscape elements. In terms of genre, the scope of her work is quite traditional. Landscapes predominate, though the artist has also painted a series of still lifes, numerous urban scenes, and the occasional stylized portrait. Yet, other aspects of K. Česonytė’s painting align her less with classical modernist art and more with the imagery of the contemporary, media-saturated world. 'My tools are the computer and virtual space,' she says. The visual imagery in her paintings derives not from reality itself, but from a virtual—or secondary—reality. For this creative artist, however, that serves merely as a springboard or a starting signal that liberates both imagination and hand. In her work, this secondary reality—or a chance motif—and the artist’s imagination most often intertwine inseparably. Images suggested by modern media are transformed into authentic visions, deeply and sensitively experienced by the painter herself."

About this artwork+

The painting displays a structured arrangement of circles within a square frame, set against a pale green background. Each circle is uniquely detailed with what appears to be an inner ring, colored in shades of pink, gray, and black, giving an illusion of depth as if peering into cylindrical voids. The subtle variations in the shades and the precise placement of the circles create a rhythmic pattern, offering a visual meditation on repetition and form. The interaction of colors and shapes exudes a minimalistic yet engaging composition, where geometry and color palette evoke a sense of harmony and balance.
