Inga Dambrauskienė, a Lithuanian artist, is celebrated for her distinctive and easily identifiable artistic style. Her paintings are marked by stylized, nearly primitivist figures, frequently shown with closed eyes and faces lifted toward the sky. Dambrauskienė’s artwork delves into profound themes, focusing on the internal experiences and emotional landscapes of people, especially their interactions and connections with each other. She describes painting as both her passion and a form of personal dialogue—artworks that “speak for themselves,” unveiling the depths of her inner life.

Figures appearing throughout her work are often portrayed in states of deep focus, meditation, or prayer. At times, multiple figures are present, united in a shared emotional intensity or mutual experience. By means of symbolic elements, rhythmic color schemes, and innocently stylized forms, Dambrauskienė seeks to express the unseen—the inner states and connections that often elude verbal expression. Her artistic vocabulary is both meditative and highly introspective.

Dambrauskienė formally embarked on her artistic career in 1989, attending painter Rimantas Bičiūnas’s studio, where she learned the fundamentals of painting and participated in group exhibitions. Between 1991 and 1996, she pursued studies at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, training as an artist-educator under the guidance of Prof. Giedrius Kazimierėnas. After completing her studies, she spent several years teaching art before shifting her focus to graphic design and visual advertising.

Today, Inga Dambrauskienė continues to foster her love of art through education. She teaches at a private school and, five years ago, established the adult art studio PIEŠIU MEDITUOJU (I AM MEDITATING), which merges academic art instruction with therapeutic approaches. Dambrauskienė frequently presents her artwork in Lithuania, at venues including the Pylimo Gallery and the Church of the Virgin Ramintojos. Her pieces are held by collectors within Lithuania as well as internationally, in places such as Canada, Poland, and Italy. In 2015, her painting “Tulips” was auctioned at Vilnius House, with proceeds supporting the renovation of the Umiastowski Palace.
