Miglė Kosinskaitė (b. 1965, Vilnius, Lithuania) is a renowned painter currently residing and working in Kaunas, Lithuania. She graduated from the Painting Department of the Vilnius Academy of Arts in 1989. Her professional recognition was further established when she joined the Lithuanian Artists’ Association in 2001.
Kosinskaitė’s works have been showcased not only in Lithuania but also abroad, with solo exhibitions in the Netherlands, Russia, Ukraine, and Sweden. These international exhibitions have brought her art to a broad audience, underscoring her role in the European contemporary art landscape.
Her paintings are noted for their realistic depictions of people and animals, frequently set against geometric patterns and surreal elements. By combining these aspects, she creates a compelling visual language that fuses realism with surrealism, encouraging viewers to enter her creative universe. The prominent use of bold shapes and motifs further enhances the distinctive mood of her pieces.
Theatricality features strongly in Kosinskaitė’s works, where images of masks and costumes are commonly found. She persistently examines themes of femininity, conveying sensuality, romance, and emotional richness. Through such themes, her paintings achieve both visual allure and intellectual depth.
