More about this artwork

The painting depicts a serene harbor scene with a focus on a large ship, anchored close to the shore. The ship, detailed with multiple masts and riggings, floats gracefully on water that ripples with a delightful array of turquoise, green, and blue hues. The reflections in the water are beautifully distorted, giving a sense of gentle movement. In the background, one can observe a low cityscape under a soft, overcast sky, painted in subtle tones of lilac and muted blue. This backdrop gives the impression of a calm, quiet morning by the waterfront. The overall atmosphere conveys a sense of peace and tranquility, typical of a coastal town where life moves at the pace of the drifting tides.
