More about this artwork

This painting showcases a serene landscape in what appears to be a vibrant, well-maintained garden. At the center is a bridge, an elegant stone structure arching over a placid body of water from which multiple jets of water sprout, creating a dynamic arrangement of fountains. The water's surface reflects the clear sky and the surrounding greenery, enhancing the overall tranquility of the scene. On either side of the painting, lush trees flaunt their autumn-hued foliage in shades of deep red, yellow, and green, suggesting a season of early fall. The left side of the canvas is dominated by a tall tree with bright red and yellow leaves, standing out starkly against the more muted tones of its surroundings. To the right, other varied species of trees, including what looks like evergreens, fill the space, contributing to a rich tapestry of color and texture. Two figures, possibly visitors or strollers, are depicted on the bridge, adding a human element to the natural beauty. They seem to be enjoying a leisurely walk, further emphasizing the peaceful ambiance of the garden setting. The artist's use of light and shadow, along with a detailed representation of the flora and architectural features, pulls the viewer into this idyllic garden scene, inviting them to savor a moment of calm and beauty.

Ina Loreta Savickienė is a professional artist living in Vilnius, Lithuania, whose evocative paintings find inspiration in the interconnected landscapes of both Lithuania and the East. Holding a Master’s degree in Psychology from Vilnius University, she brings a thoughtful and perceptive perspective to her artistry, approaching creation as a continuation of her exploration of humanity—now observed through the lens of nature. Through her works, viewers are invited into spaces meant for reflection and appreciation, where the interaction between human interiority and the outer world comes alive.

Atmospheric landscapes characterize the art of Ina L. Savickienė, where the majesty of the natural world is rendered using both realistic and imaginative imagery. She employs motifs like mountains to represent timelessness, while flowers and leaves convey the fleeting beauty of the moment, and the movement of water reflects ongoing change and transformation. In uniting these elements, her art fosters a sense of harmony, encouraging viewers to pause and consider the deeper meanings that nature holds.

Her unique artistic voice has been shaped by the sumi-e ink painting traditions of Japan, China, and Korea—a discipline she began to pursue in 2011. She intertwines scenes of Eastern mountains with Lithuanian imagery of rivers, trees, plains, and dunes, producing pieces that dissolve the borders between various cultures and traditions. By fusing these diverse influences, Ina Loreta Savickienė’s works invite viewers to immerse themselves in the natural world and discover new personal vistas.

Working with ink, delicate brushes, and mineral pigments on rice paper, Ina frequently mounts her paintings on foam board, leaving a visible border strip. Officially acknowledged as an artist in 2020, she has since presented 7 solo exhibitions, hosted 7 virtual shows, and taken part in 7 group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Her professional path marks a shift from her earlier career as a psychologist to following her passion as an artist, resulting in work that is both contemplative and richly expressive.
