Artist

Irina Troma is a professional painter, earth artist, and educator, acclaimed for her monumental works bursting with vibrant color and rich texture. She characterizes her art as both authentic and contemporary, particularly when it is showcased within interior spaces. Troma believes that the colors in her paintings serve as symbolic representations, functioning as visual metaphors that transform genuine human relationships into expressive color allusions.

The interaction between form and philosophical interpretation lies at the heart of Troma’s artistic process. She is especially drawn to employing shapes as tangible objects that lend themselves to continual re-imagining and rediscovery. Even when depicting Madonnas, her approach moves towards abstraction rather than straightforward portraiture, encouraging viewers to reflect on both the form and the meaning that go beyond a literal reading.

Troma’s work is grounded in exploring a variety of phenomena and states of being through original juxtapositions of color and form. For her, color is the most foundational component of her works, while definite shapes and rhythmic compositions function to highlight and amplify her dynamic color ideas. Through these aspects, she strives to make visible the previously unseen and to give form to intangible sensations.

In addition to her own creative endeavors, Irina Troma is passionately involved in art education. She founded and currently leads the adult painting studio known as "My Colour," where she has created a unique instructional program that focuses on the study of color for adult learners. Her devotion to both practicing and teaching art is demonstrated by her consistent exhibition record, including presentations in Lithuania, the Netherlands, and several renowned venues such as Sv. Jonas Gallery in Vilnius (2022), Vilnius University Botanical Garden Museum, Arka Gallery, among others, from 2004 to 2022.
