More about this artwork

The painting showcases a rich tapestry of colors and textures, with a whirl of creamy whites, dusty browns, and vibrant splashes of red and green that dominate the palette. Dynamic, almost violent brushstrokes create a sense of chaotic movement, while thick applications of paint add a sculptural quality to the work. The composition does not clearly depict any recognizable forms, leaving much to the interpretation of the viewer. The focal point seems to shift and morph, suggesting perhaps organic shapes reminiscent of flowers or abstract forms reminiscent of a stormy landscape. Flecks and splatters of white paint throughout the piece add a sense of energy and spontaneity, hinting at the artist's vigorous application of materials. The painting evokes a feeling of raw emotion and profound depth.

Arūnas Miliukas is an artist who was born in Vilnius and continues to create his works there. Known for his unique and imaginative style, he has established a notable presence in Lithuania's contemporary art scene.

His work is consistently inventive and unexpected; through his vivid imagination, he brings to life extraterrestrial beings within his paintings, seamlessly blending myth, fantasy, and reality. Delicate colors and a misty atmosphere prompt viewers to wonder if they are immersed in a nighttime dream. His art merges humanity’s deepest questions and reflections: What are our origins? Where do we exist? What is truly real in our lives? Could it be that life, or our world itself, is nothing more than a dream?

Since 1997, the artist has participated in exhibitions across a range of venues, including Vilnius, Amsterdam, Holon (Israel), and Malmö (Sweden). These exhibitions have introduced his work to diverse audiences from various cultures and artistic backgrounds.
