More about this artwork

The artwork presents a densely detailed, circular motif that resembles a coin. At its center and across the surface, human figures intertwine among intricate, maze-like patterns that imply a complex network or a puzzling labyrinth. These figures, varied in their poses and interactions, give a sense of dynamic movement, as though they are caught in mid-action—some reaching out, others recoiling. The entirety is rendered in a monochromatic scheme, emphasizing texture and depth, and creating an almost dreamlike or otherworldly scene. The detailed etching adds layers of texture, giving the piece an archaeological or ancient feel, as if this coin holds stories or histories long forgotten or hidden.

I was born in 1977 in Ukmergė. I attended art school, graduated from Šiauliai University, Faculty of Fine Arts. I work in an art school. In my spare time I create miniatures. Since 2001 I have been participating in group exhibitions and plein air exhibitions. In 2022 I had a solo exhibition of my works.

For me, art is about being with myself, listening to myself, and often transforming my inner pain into something more positive. The themes of the miniatures are very diverse. They are different sensations, "heard" feelings. The drawings are made with different graphite pencils. Esoteric symbols, various signs, fantastic creatures, etc. can be seen in the drawings. The works are minimalist and illustrative. Only when you look deeper do the drawings open up. I try to make each work pulsate with light and to hamonise the human soul.
