About the author
Aima Sodonienė, who works under the artistic name AIMART, chose this pseudonym as a reflection of her deep dedication to her art, skillfully integrating her real name into her creative identity. This choice communicates both her fervor for artistic creation and includes a subtle reference to herself, illustrating a deliberate fusion of the personal with the professional in her work.
Having been born and grown up in the lively city of Kaunas, Lithuania, Aima Sodonienė began her pursuit of art at an early age by attending the Kaunas Art Gymnasium, where she was exposed to a variety of artistic fields. She continued her education at the distinguished Vilnius Academy of Arts, where she built a comprehensive foundation that shapes her eclectic artistic style today.
The emotional intensity that pervades Aima’s artwork emerges from her everyday experiences, with each piece echoing the impressions she gathers from her surroundings—be it people, the natural world, urban scenes, music, or different cultures. Her paintings stand as individual statements of her internal landscape. Through her continually developing approach to color, form, and subject matter, she ensures her work remains both lively and engaging, leaving space for the audience’s own interpretation through abstraction.
Aima primarily works with acrylics and charcoal, using these mediums to build vibrant and expressive compositions. She values the interplay of chance and intention, always striving for a sense of balance and vitality within each artwork. Her pieces have been installed in a range of settings—including private residences, restaurants, hotels, and clinics throughout Lithuania and internationally—which underscores her commitment to making art both accessible and significant in everyday life. Her work has been especially well received in prominent venues such as Hotel SPA VILNIUS Druskininkai, Hotel Neringa, Hotel Panorama, and Bechara Clinic, where numerous pieces have entered collections, attesting to her ability to connect with a wide audience.
