About the author
Viktorija Burlėgaitė is a Lithuanian painter who is currently studying in a master’s program at the Vilnius Academy of Arts (VAA).
She has organized two personal exhibitions, first one being "Play dead" which took place in the memorial museum of Beatrice Grincevičiūtė. In 2022, she participated in the student exchange program with the French art school École Supérieure d'Art et de Design in Reims. The paintings that were created during the studies in France were presented at the second personal exhibition "Tranzite" in Vilnius library, Pilaitė branch.
Her works have been displayed in "Menas be stogo" exhibit, which was initiated by the Vilnius City Municipality. Together with her course mates, she held a group exhibition "Krateris" in the VAA gallery "Kreatoriumas/ Meno krosnys". She has participated in the mobile exhibition "Aktuali kultūra" organized by the Ministry of Culture, as well as a virtual group exhibition "Physical spaces: virtual connections" and a group exhibition "Po vieną" in the VAA exhibition space "Tapybos koridorius".
The themes that are being explored in her work present a metaphysical gaze at the painted images and a contemplation of various subconscious experiences.
