About the author
Not only is Edita related to the Lithuanian world of painting but she also is well-known in the circles of theatre as a gifted and capable stage designer.
This passion can be noticed in Edita's paintings as references to plays or elements of the costume design or the set of the stage. Peculiar, vivid and unseen characters are nearly a part of some visual performance in front of our eyes as the eyes of another audience. They play with the “stage properties”and are frequently engaged into a comic action that has nothing to do with the everyday reality.
Edita perfectly manages to create excitement in the motion and a little show and accent on each gesture or pose. Her paintings are like small fragments, glimpses of a play that has once started and is going to continue.
Edita's husband Remigijus Januškevičius is another well-known painter whose work form a part of our gallery.
